A Discussion About Race and America’s State Parks

Sep 30, 2020

This year has brought about an awareness, perhaps not seen in generations, of the need for racial and social justice in our nation and the need to take a closer look at race in America. What does this mean for America’s State Parks?

The September 30 webinar discussion was facilitated by Phil Gaines, retired director of the South Carolina Park Service and Professor of Practice at Clemson University. Presenters were Dr. Myron Floyd, Dean of the College of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University and Dr. Harrison Pinckney IV, Assistant Professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at Clemson University.

This webinar is the sixth in a series brought to you by the National Association of State Park Directors and the Clemson University Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management.
