Visitors to Iowa’s state parks can earn points redeemed for various prizes through a summer program offered by Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
The free Iowa State Park Program runs from June through Oct. 31, according to a press release.
Participants can check in to more than 60 participating state parks on their mobile devices. Every check-in counts as an automatic entry into a giveaway for a three-night stay at a four-bedroom cabin at Springbrook State Park near Guthrie Center, Iowa.
Check-ins also enable participants to collect points that can be redeemed for various prizes.
Each park and forest included in the passport program includes a description of a “Hidden Gem” feature, such as a historical marker, scenic overlook, special trail and more.
