The Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites Division is currently accepting applications for the position of Park/Historic Site Manager 3 at Stephen C. Foster State Park (Okefenokee Swamp).

This remote park is a primary entrance to the legendary Okefenokee Swamp—one of Georgia's seven natural wonders and the largest wetland in the South. Alligators, turtles, raccoons, black bears, deer, ibis, herons, wood storks, red-cockaded woodpeckers and numerous other creatures make their homes in the 402,000-acre refuge. Stargazers will appreciate the particularly dark skies.

The 120-acre Stephen C. Foster State Park is located within the National Wildlife Refuge. The Park Manager resides in Fargo Georgia in a single-family park housing with 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, bonus room, with a 2-car garage. Recent updates to the home include, new flooring throughout, energy efficient HVAC system, roof, and large screened in porch. The residence received a full renovation in 2008.

State Employee Benefits Package (leave benefits, retirement, etc.) is included as well as 2-year/5-year criteria-based increase (contingent on funding), free annual park pass, 20% discount on overnight stays in Georgia State Parks, and 25% discount on retail merchandise.
