Ohio Department of Natural Resources: Ohio State Parks and Watercraft Assistant Chief Position

On behalf of the agency, holds & serves in a fiduciary or administrative relationship for the Director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ORC 124.11(A)) & acts as Assistant Chief for the Division of Parks & Watercraft: supervises field operations involving daily operation of state parks including planning, budgetary, manpower, development, and law enforcement issues. This role also serves as principle advisor to chief. In addition, this role provides guidance on division policies & directions, plans and designs programs to enhance division effectiveness, and collaborates/coordinates responses to various groups. This role supervises central office group managers, involves management overview of operations, conducts and/or attends monthly meetings with staff/managers, and includes traveling requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of graduate major core program & 36 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description.

-Or undergraduate major core program & 48 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description.

-Or 72 months training or 72 mos. experience in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description.

-Or 6 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Administrator 4, 22914, in assigned area.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Normal Working Hours:

FROM: 8:00 am TO: 5:00 p.m. (hours may vary & include nights, weekends, & holidays, on call 24/7)

Starting Salary: $90,043
