The Assistant Superintendent Position assists in managing the operation of both Cane Creek State park and Arkansas Post Museum State Park. This includes managing 29 campsites, 1 rental RV, 2 pavilions, and 20 miles of trail, museum facilities including 5 exhibit buildings.

Job duties include acting as the Superintendent in the absence of the Park Superintendent, supervision of Interpretive staff at both parks, assists in managing the maintenance staff, and VIC operations. This position assists in preparing budgets, reviewing revenue and expense reports, managing inventory, and preparing specifications for major purchases. This position manages major maintenance projects and revenue producing services, as well as directly supervising employees and participating in public relations outreach for the park. This position is responsible for both parks Interpretive operations including providing visitors Interpretive opportunities that adhere with both parks specific Interpretive mission. This position also will assist in the protection of the parks resources, visitors, and staff through security, safety, and implementation of department policy. Applicant must be able to work a varied shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have a valid driver’s license and be on call as needed. A criminal background check is required.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal educational equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in business, park management, hospitality management, or a related field; plus two years of experience in park management, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
