This position will have a broad range of responsibilities in all phases of management and operations for a 820-acre recreational state park. Job duties include providing information and assistance to the public, participating in park programs and interpretation, interpreting rules and regulations, cooperating with other government agencies, and serving as a primary supervisor in the absence of the Park Superintendent.
Other duties include interviewing, training, directing and supervising employees in the operation of the park, maintaining performance files on employees, preparing inventory and operation reports, and assisting in the budget preparation. This emergency service position is responsible for the safety of the park and its visitors by obtaining voluntary compliance with laws and regulations and is a vital part of the park’s management staff. Applicant will patrol for possible thefts, illegal hunting, vandalism, and other violations, have an active role in the park’s Search and Rescue team, administer first aid, and other duties as assigned. This position is subject to working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Criminal background check and driver’s record check are required.

Applicants must meet or exceed these qualifications: the formal educational equivalent of a bachelor's degree in park administration, parks and recreation management, natural science, recreation administration, or a related field; plus one year of experience in park management, including six months in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
