This position is the chief law enforcement person in the park and is responsible for ensuring the safety of park visitors and protecting the resources of the park by obtaining voluntary compliance with laws and park regulations.

Duties include supervising security personnel, overseeing search operations, administering basic first aid, patrolling for possible thefts, illegal hunting, cutting of trees, vandalism or other violations, and preparing the necessary accident/incident reports as required. The Park Ranger assists in the management and operations of the park and is subject to 24-hour call. Must be able to traverse rough terrain and work in inclement weather.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: the formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, parks and recreation management, or a related field, plus one year of experience as a park ranger or law enforcement officer, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Must be able to complete the Arkansas law enforcement certification training as established by Act 452 of 1975, within one year of employment.
