Job Opportunities: Assistant Park Supervisor / Operations Supervisor (3 positions), Minnesota

Minnesota DNR is currently seeking to fill three (3) NR Supervisor 1 Parks and Trails positions for the following State Parks: Big Stone Lake, Frontenac, and Tettegouche. Select this LINK State Parks Map for a map of Minnesota State Parks and Recreation Areas to review locations. 

Big Stone Lake State Park: This is a seasonal (7month), full-time (40hrs a week) position, with anticipated season dates from April through October each year. Days of work will vary, with shifts between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m, and includes evenings, weekends, and some holidays depending on park needs. This position is anticipated to be FLSA, Exempt for the majority of the season.

Frontenac State Park: This is a year-round, part-time (36hrs a week) position. Days and hours of work will vary with rotating shifts, and includes evenings, weekends and some holidays depending on park needs. This position is anticipated to be FLSA, Exempt for the summer season.

Tettegouche State Park: This is a year-round, full-time (40hrs a week) position. Days of work will vary, with shifts between 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m, and includes evenings, weekends, and some holidays depending on park needs. This position is anticipated to be FLSA, Exempt for the summer season.

These positions are responsible for the administration, supervision and implementation of Department of Natural Resources' and Division of Parks and Trails' programs, activities, policies and rules pertaining to the operation of Minnesota State Parks. These positions provide direct supervisory work in the management and operation of state parks, recreation areas, and outdoor recreation and natural resources management programs. The incumbent directs and administers division programs, activities, budgets and rules.

  • Exercise authority in supervising staff and equitably administering labor plans and agreements.

  • Collaborate with others to direct development and implementation of resource management programs.

  • Implement the development, maintenance, operational, real estate, and rehabilitation activities and programs.

  • Conduct enforcement, emergency, visitor, and public relations services and activities.

  • Collaborate on planning, policy development, program administration and fiscal management.

  • Conduct other duties as assigned.
