This position is the park manager of a 163-acre park along the Black River.  Facilities include a historic site, campgrounds, day-use facilities, visitor center, pavilion and a 12-acre lake.

The Park Superintendent implements all department policies, directives and procedures, assists visitors daily as needed, and directs and supervises all park operations, including maintenance, administration, law enforcement, resource management and educational programming. Job duties include the development and implementation of plans to generate revenue and the oversight of bank processes, petty cash, change fund, and bank deposits. Other duties include planning, scheduling and prioritizing the upkeep and repair of park facilities, grounds and structures, procuring capitol equipment, maintaining equipment inventory and other related records, determining project specifications, preparing quotes, and purchasing materials and supplies. This position also completes performance appraisals, prepares and approves work schedules, maintains performance files, participates in planning and development, supervises and performs the duties of a law enforcement officer. Must have completed or be able to complete the Arkansas law enforcement certification training within one year of employment and carry a firearm while on duty. Must have a valid driver’s license, be able to traverse rough terrain, be able to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays, and be on call as needed. A criminal background check is required.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: the formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in park administration, parks and recreation management, natural science, recreation administration, or a related field plus two years of experience in park management, or a related field, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
